Nottingham City Council is seeking to appoint experienced and competent contractors to deliver a comprehensive programme of mechanical gully cleaning and road sweeping services across the city’s highway network. This procurement establishes a multi-supplier framework designed to support the ongoing maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of public roads and drainage infrastructure.
The framework is divided into two distinct service lots:
Lot 1 – Gully Cleaning: Mechanical cleaning and maintenance of highway gullies and drainage chambers to remove silt, debris, and blockages, helping to prevent flooding and ensure effective water drainage.
Lot 2 – Road Sweeping: Provision of mechanical road sweeping services to remove litter, dust, leaves, and other debris from carriageways, pavements, and kerb lines, contributing to environmental cleanliness and road safety.
The appointed contractors will be responsible for delivering services using specialist equipment such as suction tankers and mechanical sweepers, ensuring efficient removal and disposal of waste materials in compliance with environmental regulations. These services play a critical role in maintaining highway infrastructure, reducing surface water risks, and enhancing the overall urban environment.
